On 12 October 2019, multiple units Sterling Rescue responded to a structure fire (Level 1 Rapid Intervention Team and Rehabilitation Unit). Multiple members of the agency engaged in fire ground activities and support to include search and rescue, firefighter rehabilitation, patient tracking, command structure establishment and support, and intra-agency communication and teamwork. The bulk of the fire was knocked down easily and no injuries were reported.

In conjunction with Fire Prevention and Safety Month, please remember to check and ensure that your smoke detectors are operational and have fresh batteries. Fast alerts to smoke and fires can save your life.

Great work by all units from Sterling Rescue, the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company, Loudoun County Fire Rescue, Fairfax County Fire Rescue, the Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office, and the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
