Winter Storm Jonas - 2016
Email Email Print Print PDF PDF RSS RSS Facebook Google+ Twitter

By Lieutenant Scott Maurice
January 29, 2017

This past week marked the one-year anniversary of Winter Storm Jonas, which blanketed the region in 35 to 40 inches of snow during the winter of 2016. During the 72 hours of the storm, the officers and members of the Sterling Volunteer Rescue Squad remained at the helm providing emergency medical support to the region. Crews responded to over 80 calls for assistance during the storm period, with the average call taking about two hours to complete. Many of the Fire and EMS responders hiked through near waist deep snow and plowed/dug paths towards those in need.

We say thanks to all the members who served that weekend, and to all the operational and administrative members for their service to the community, 24/7/365. EMS STRONG!
