Sterling Rescue is staffed 24/7/365 by volunteers. We are one of the few remaining 100% volunteer organizations in the Loudoun County Fire & Rescue system. Although our members are not paid, there are many benefits to volunteering: tax deductions, tuition assistance, free training, and a sense of belonging to the community – just to name a few.
You can join Sterling Rescue as an Operational or Administrative member. Both membership types are important to the continued success of the organization, and we are always looking for new members. Click here to view our current recruiting priorities.
Operational members staff the apparatus and run calls. Training is provided to you at no cost. There are 4 levels of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) training available:
- Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B)
- EMT-Enhanced (EMT-E)
- EMT-Intermediate (EMT-I)
- EMT-Paramedic (EMT-P)
In addition, there is technical rescue training available, such as vehicle extrication, water rescue, firefighting, and more.
Administrative members are the critical infrastructure that keeps our company moving forward. They manage all of our accounting, chaplains, fundraising, logistics, public education, community outreach, information technology, and more! All of these roles are vital to the successful operation of our organization.
If you have questions about becoming a member, simply drop us a note to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will get back with you as soon as possible.
